The RD&K Project

As designers we talk about “Design Systems” like Google Material design or Microsoft Fluent Design. These systems offer various patterns/components or building blocks to create unique experiences.

The content may be same, but the experience differs based on which design system you apply to that content. Take an example of a mobile app, like uber, Amazon or Netflix. The experience differs when you use these apps on Android v/s iOS

The RD&K project is an experiment which proves that there are “Design Systems” in music as well. Growing up I was a big fan or R.D. Burman and admired his music. This admiration turned into implicit learning. So, I decided that I will write & compose original songs but apply R.D. Burman’s “Design System” to my compositions. Hence the tag line “Sincerely Inspired & Honestly Original”.
The songs are composed keeping in mind how “Kishor Kumar” would have sung these songs. Hence the “K” in the album name.

I defined the success criteria for this album. If the music takes the audience to the 70s & 80s (R.D.Burman’s era), it means my project is successful.
Listen to these 4 songs and see if they take you to back in the Golden era of RD Burman and Kishor Kumar. If they do, my success criteria is achieved.
