My workshops and lectures are a mix of conventional/orthodox content as well as innovative and brain stimulating original content, which helps my audience to expand their horizons about "Thinking Design". Some of the topics are given to me by design schools to be converted into teaching material, and some are my own. Bringing in perspective that help individuals build their thought process towards various design streams. Topics that prepares students to face the industry demands and help professional designers to navigate through their dilemma about making "Design Decisions", team dynamics and "how & when" to get "detached and let go".
Can you think of sound as an element of experience design. The way you use Shapes, icons, fonts, while space, colors and language, can you think of "Sound & Music" as an element of experience design. There are deeper connections of Audio and experience than you can imagine.
The content can be customized (based on the requirement) in a half, single or a two days’ workshop.
In today's time, we refer to "Human Centered design" as if it’s an IP of the IT world. But the fact is that "Human Centered Design" is in existence ever since Humans came into existence. This session helps us to widen our understanding about how HCD has evolved so far, and we can take those learning as we head into the future.
You would be aware that "Human Emotions" is the biggest weapon of the advertisement industry to sell majority of the products in the market, but you may not always get what is promised in those commercials. But good design can stimulate positive emotions which can delight the customer and drive decisions in favour of the brands.
All of us agree that Research is necessary to assure success and bring down chances of failure. This lecture session re-enforces that fact that success rates are high when your design solution is based on systematic research insights. We study some examples from the industry and what impact research had on the outcome for certain leading brands & services.
In this session I try to answer curious designers with their "Design" and "Non-Design" queries. Coach them to "Accept, Adapt & Adopt" to unforeseen situations which will equip them to take design or non-design decision towards building a product.
This session helps students and budding designers & young professionals to understand how a designer's portfolio should be. How to solve the real problem and inertia that designers have towards building their own portfolio. It also includes a “Fun Filled” session of Myth Busting around a designer’s portfolio.
Just like the design systems we use to build beautiful experiences for software products, Music, Fashion, Movie making, and a few other domains also have "Design systems" but they are not so evident, and we tend to ignore their existence.
Learn the basics of SLR/DSLR photography. This learning will equip any beginner to understand what the basic parameters of photography are, and how do they impact your result. This material will empower the audience to use any sort of a cameras, even your cell phone cameras included.
The content of this session is an outcome of my laziness towards photography. As the mobile phones were soaring in 2012 with high end cameras, people started thinking if they would ever replace DSLR cameras. My point of view is that the equipment does not matter. If you have the eye to identify a frame in your surroundings, which is worth capturing, then you would be able to create a good photograph even if you do not have high end gear.
This 1.5 hrs session is focused at enabling the newbies in design to connect the dots between "design subjects" that they learn today and the potential applications of those subjects into various industry domains of tomorrow. It gives the glimpse of the "Super power" (Problem solving by Design") that they are about to learn and learn how to use it.
